Prof. Franco Ruzzenenti

Expert in energy management, sustainable development and environmental economics. Graduate of the University of Siena and Oxford Brooks University. Lecturer at a number of research institutions in various countries, including Emory University (USA) and Leiden University (Netherlands).

In 2012 he received a research scholarship at the Faculty of Energy Engineering of the University of Florence, aiming to assess (LCA and LCA exergy) the environmental and economic viability of a micro-CHP power plant powered by geothermal and solar energy. In 2013-2015 he worked on the European project FP7 FESSUD, researching the financialisation of energy markets with particular emphasis on oil markets. In 2016, as a visiting professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University, taught courses on the social dimensions of energy systems. Currently affiliated with Parthenope University of Naples. His research interests concern the rebound effect, energy efficiency, exergy, material flow analysis, life-cycle assessment, thermodynamics, and network theory. Collaborates with the Dialogue for Policy team in analysis of the social aspects of energy policies in Europe.

Author of several dozen publications in leading academic periodicals and reviewer for the following journals: Energy (Elsevier), Ecological Economics (Elsevier), Ecological Modelling (Elsevier), Building and Environment (Elsevier), Symmetry (MDPI), Entropy (MDPI), and Energy Efficiency (Springer). Highly experienced in energy consulting for domestic and European institutions.
